Welcome to the Denver Area Panhellenic Website

WE, AS FRATERNITY WOMEN, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life.  The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.

Introducing Denver Area Panhellenic

Founded in 1908, Denver Area Panhellenic (DAP) is an alumnae Panhellenic affiliated with National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). DAP is a community-based organization governed by a council compromised of delegates from the 26 NPC sororities.

For over ninety years, the purpose of Denver Area Panhellenic has been:

  1. To INFORM fraternity women of current trends.
  2. To PROMOTE the fraternity system.
  3. To IMPROVE the Panhellenic image.
  4. To STIMULATE a continuing interest in Panhellenic affairs.

Denver Area Panhellenic accomplishes its purpose through its committees. Among other activities, Denver Area Panhellenic committees are responsible for holding regular council meetings, offering social and networking events, supporting Denver Area Panhellenic’s philanthropic endeavors, raising funds for and awarding scholarships, awarding Denver Area Panhellenic’s alumnae awards, and helping young women secure recommendations for NPC sorority recruitment.

Each biennium NPC recognizes the Outstanding Alumnae Panhellenic. Denver Area Panhellenic has been honored several times, including the following:

  • 2007-09              Second Runner-up
  • 2005-07              Winner
  • 2001-03              Fourth Runner-up
  • 1997-99              Winner

On Panhellenic Friendships

As a 50-year member of my fraternity, it has been refreshing to work with women from other sororities on events, philanthropies and causes that are quite different than the familiar efforts of my own fraternity. Work on the executive board and several committees has encouraged new friendships and networking opportunities. The Panhellenic experience has been most rewarding and memorable. While serving as Delegate-at-Large, and fulfilling my final year on council, I realized how much I will miss the comraderie that has developed through my involvement with Denver Area Panhellenic.
